Life in the cracks.

If cracks appear in our patio I celebrate them and wait for tiny plants to grow along these soil-filled crevices, bubbling over, softening lines and making our path look mossy and lived-in. When you walk on it to bring in the washing, scents drift up as your slippers crush the leaves. I do hope the family we sell our house too appreciates them as much as I do……
