Creative Red

How could I miss a chance to blip the Canadian flag and the maple leaf when the theme is "Artistic: Red"?  I couldn't! This very creative version of the flag, made from fire hoses, is displayed in the local fire hall.  I couldn't make out the signature of the artist.  I'll have to investigate and include it in a future blip.  
Kalyn's club volleyball coach posted an announcement here about her committing to Simon Fraser University in Burnaby to play volleyball.  She had interest from a few university coaches in Canada and the US and narrowed her choice to two, both in BC.  She made her final decision a few days ago.  We're very pleased that she'll be close to home and that we'll be able to watch her home games.  The SFU team plays in the NCAA and doesn't play any Canadian teams, unfortunately, but it'll be a great experience for her.  She's going into her last year of high school, but it's good to know where she'll be going for university in 2018.  I'm surprised that kids commit so early to uni teams, but that seems to be the way the system works!
