Marjorie's ramblings

Yerma

We did more than go to see Yerma at the Forum Cinema tonight, but it currently dominates our thinking and emotions.

I have to confess that I bought tickets without knowing anything about the play. Here is the Guardian review which is accurate. The actors talk over each other/shout over each other/shriek over each other. This is impossible for someone with hearing aids. Mum could not make out what was bring said/shouted/shrieked and consequently she had an interesting version of the plot by the end!

We have just finished the debrief. It's only 9.30pm but feels like midnight.

Earlier in the day:  Mum had another migraine this morning so could not use the sewing machine (see yesterday); I tried to get down to desk level through the layers of paperwork and nearly succeeded.

My cousin Jean phoned from New Zealand. She has terrible arthritis and is caring for her husband who had a stroke about 40 years ago. He is refusing to go into respite (and certainly refusing to move to move suitable accommodation). Life is so hard for some people.

This afternoon, Mum had an xray of her neck to look for cervical instability and had a dental appointment.

On a happy note, the cheques of compensation from the holiday company arrived today and I am optimistic that this draws a line under the experience. I am tempted to organised a celebratory dinner...........

My blip was taken in the centre of Hexham as we returned to our car to come home.
