more than jam

This week is "rural housing week". You knew that, didn't you? I went to the Oxfordshire Rural Housing Partnership's rural housing conference today, which was held at Denman College, the WI's institute of learning. There were people doing water colour painting and other people who were, I think doing a cookery course. It's a lovely place, and the grounds are beautifully looked after. I took some flower close ups, but this gives you a better impression of the extent of the place.
The speakers were interesting - one parish councillor told of his village's 10 year efforts to see some affordable housing provided, which has just got planning permission. The most interesting question, in my view, was "why can't all housing be affordable?". We were not there to tackle the broken housing market, but it's a legitimate question. No one really took that one up!
