Gloucester Old Docks

We decided to break our long journey to the south west. Our first stopping point was Hanbury Hall an eighteenth century National Trust property just off the M5. Well worth a visit. We were able to stretch our legs in the parkland and enjoyed the formal gardens and the Thorbury wall paintings in the house.

Just a short journey on to Gloucester where we we were staying. A wander around the old docks finished off the day perfectly.

We decided that this was a much better option to spending a day in the car. Must look for more opportunities to break our journeys in future.
