Shetland foal #3
This little foal is particularly photogenic and I've blipped her once before. She was looking rather bedraggled this evening after today's rain but still managed a smile for the camera.
I noticed she was limping so rang the New Forest Verderers who protect and administer the forest and ponies. Apparently, she's not actually injured but has some sort of defect which from time to time causes her to drag one of her hind legs. However, everything then clicks back into place and off she trots. They hope that as she gets older the problem will resolve itself.
They asked me to describe the group of ponies she was with to make sure it was the same one - her mum has very distinctive markings which helped. It's great that the verderers can identify individual ponies and know exactly what's going on.
