Restoration?
Today I duly ticked off the last two of the eight UNESCO world heritage sites in Trier by visiting the Barbara Baths and Romerbrücke [see extra] between breakfast and 08:00, when I returned to the hotel to pack. I found both unimpressive and was rather disappointed to see remains at the Baths apparently being constructed. I'm not joking; there is a lot of new build at all the sites which is I guess is justified as restoration, but it makes me doubt what I'm looking at.
After this, I took the 09:30 train to Frankfurt and then planes to Amsterdam and Edinburgh. I wasn't looking forward to this week but it's been much better than I thought it would be, both professionally and personally.
