Goodbye Billy

It was the funeral of my cousin Billy today. It's been a while since he died but his wife waited for his son to move back to the UK so he didn't have to make a few trips. He arrived back at midnight last night.
A lovely service and the church was packed. He was very popular. His boys paid tributes to him which were so heartwarming. They did so well.
We then went to the crematorium for the committal. That was more uplifting. Again many kind tributes paid to this wonderful man.
I took the opportunity to take a rose to my parents as they are in the rose garden in the grounds.
We then went to a social club for food and drinks and chat.
Didn't get home until 8.00 this evening. It's been a long, sad but enjoyable day. We've cried...lots, laughed...lots, and drank...lots.
Here's to you Billy. You've given us so many happy memories that we can keep. You'll be thought of often. X
