The Race Home
Last day of our Mini adventure. Today was all about getting home - a journey of around 650 miles. It sounds a lot (and yes, is a fair way) but the French motorways are so easy to drive on, the miles get eaten up in no time. We shared the driving and were back home at a reasonable hour.
Despite the distance, we fitted in a couple of meanders on the way. One going in search of a place to photograph the stunning cloud formations above us and one to visit this lovely disused race track near Reims. It's the Circuit Du Reims-Gueux and the stands make you feel like you're stepping back in time. It was good to see it being actively preserved while we were there, by the friends of the circuit organisation.
It's been a fantastic trip - the Mini is such superb fun to take round the mountain roads. Well done, little Mini - now rest.
