A busy and coming-and-going day today.  Plasterer No.4 didn't turn up (that's ceasing to be a surprise). E and I did some practical things while the Cheeseminors went for a walk with Jeeves the dog.  M&C left after lunch, heading for France by way of Kidderminster; guests arrived; Steve-the-carver dropped in, and M, J and E arrived this evening, and S cooked an excellent curry for all of us..

Our guests this evening include Hannah Genders, garden designer and winner of Chelsea and Malvern medals.  With Steve here, we talked through a number of things we might do with a tree that's on it's last trunks, including what we could do in the one remaining large yet-to-be-recovered area of the garden, using the timber...
