The birthday celebrations continue

Having kicked off G's birthday week on Sunday in the pub at East Haddon, this evening the celebrations continued with me cooking one of her favourite meals - a beef stroganoff.

Inspired by Delia Smith in her original Complete Cookery Course, it is a very British take on the Russian dish, and is totally delicious. Recently our Ukrainian sister-in-law cooked a more authentically Russian stroganoff - also delicious but very different.

We had a fine bottle of Knight's Cider to wash the meal down. An appropriate touch I thought, Knight being G's maiden name.
