Guillaume le Conquérant
Today my parents went home.
But before that, this morning we went to the Le château de Falaise, which is a restoration of the castle destroyed in WWII. Although very interesting (William married his cousin Mathilde and the Pope was not happy, who knew?!), I felt that the rooms did not particularly fit together very well. Was also very very windy so felt rather spooky as the wind kept whistling and doors kept slamming. Eek!
Spent the afternoon with Caroline and Sylvère, everyone was pretty tired but it was so nice to have the time to just have conversation and not go out. In the evening we went out together, with Sylvère's parents. Spent some time at their house too and they have such a beautiful cat, that reminded me quite a lot of my own at home. They live in the middle of the countryside, a wheat field in their backyard and a farmer next door. Dad ended up wangling some homemade jam from his mum by complimenting her on it - truthfully though, it is absolutely gorgeous and I am lucky enough to have some too!
Final meal with my parents. Was lucky enough to have everyone involved, and went to a little restaurant in the middle of the Normandy countryside (l'Anacapri). Bolognese pizza, yes please.
