HOUSEWARMING BY THE SEA

After complete renovation, our older son and daughter-in-law’s house was completed a few weeks ago and they invited us to their housewarming party today.

We knew it was the Bournemouth Air Show, but didn’t realise it was also the Boat Show at Southampton and the Dorset County Show, so Mr. HCB hadn’t factored that in when he said we would leave at 10.00 a.m. to be down there to see the Red Arrows at 12 noon.  Coming off the A34 we crawled at a snail’s pace along the M3 and then the M27 and all we saw of the Red Arrows was a red tinge in the sky and a heart shape, but by the time I got my camera out that had disappeared.

After three hours we arrived, feeling rather hot and sticky, and had obviously missed the Red Arrows, but we did see the Breathing Wingwalker Display and it was worth going to see the wonderful view from their garden, high on the cliff top, looking over to the Isle of Wight.

If I’m honest, planes don’t do much for me, I was more interested in the yachts tacking along the coast and this one is specially for our lovely hairdresser, Lisa, and her family to welcome their new dog, Millie!

We had a good day in the sunshine and hope it continues tomorrow for the last day of the Air Show, and it was great to see the sea again.  We need to be up and out early tomorrow, or we might get caught up in the Swindon Half Marathon.  Better start thinking of a seat for tomorrow's Blip and the best way out of town after Church!

      strangely sacred in salt.
          It is in our tears
               and in the sea.”
