Top dressing

Have I had this rant before?

I am sure my loyal reader will tell me.

They are top dressing the lanes, loads of hairy navigators on huge machines spray hot bitumen on the lane and cover it with chippings, which either sick or they don't. To Road or shoe or dog!

The chippings are small this year? Cutbacks??

Anyway, Tess and I were forced to follow this sweeper for a mile or so as he painstakingly swept up the loose chipping, not adhered to the bitumen. Unfortunately, he was also pulling up the bitumen and chippings which hadn't stuck to the lane due to the sand which is ever present.
