Chequers Tree

Standing at the cross roads of Hotley Bottom Lane, Kiln Road and Moat Lane, this chequers tree that was planted some 15 years ago is a reminder of the past of Prestwood and this part of Buckinghamshire.

One story is that the UK Prime Minister's country residence at Chequers Court - to give it its full name - was named after the chequers trees that grow in its grounds.
