Does everything need cleaning?
I've been doing a few household repairs recently, dog coats, jackets, and other small jobs requiring some ingenuity and refining of techniques on the basis of what will and won't work at a particular join or with a particular fabric. As I was putting the machine away I thought it could give some interesting shots. Of course as soon as I got in close I noticed various bits of fluff, threads of cotton, black rubber from the machine belt linked with machine oil and general low level rust.
Hmm. Seemed to work ok but before I take anymore pics a wipe down will be in order. I suppose given its age, In excess of 50 years, at a guess, it's not surprising. It's funny what the close up lens makes you notice.
The weight of it is phenomenal. It is almost impossible to lift from floor to table. Instead of putting it away I might leave it in a order til I'm through with this bout of repairs. They don't make them like that anymore!
