Thar She Blows!
This morning we arrived in the port of Akureyri, in the north of Iceland up near the Arctic Circle. We drove to another town, Husavik, where we went on another whale watching expedition. This time we were in luck! The weather was gorgeous with bright sunshine, and the water was considerably calmer than it was in Reykjavik when we went on our first whale watch. We saw at least six humpback whales spouting and coming to the surface, and diving. What a thrill!
On the way to Husavik, we stopped at another spectacular waterfall -- Godafoss -- (see extra), complete with rainbow.
A fabulous day, and our last in Iceland. Tomorrow we have a day at sea, and then we will be arriving in the Faroe Islands (Denmark).
Once again my apologies for not being too chatty in the commenting department ... ship's internet is iffy at best!
