Braving the rain

Shame about the weather, yet steady rain and drizzle throughout the day did little to dampen the spirits of those who turned out for Romsey’s annual FoodFest today.
Dozens of stalls set up in the streets, complementing the monthly Farmers’ Market in a town centre car park offered tasters for the crowds and focussed on locally produced food, drink and crafts.
You could take your pick from venison burgers, to locally produced pork, wine, even gin produced at a Hampshire distillery, locally produced speciality  bread even fish caught in Hampshire coastal waters.  Ot you could book for a cookery masterclass.
For the children, pens of live animals were popular — donkey, pony, goats, rabbits and chicken and ducks provided additional interest.
Integrating the Food Festival with the monthly Farmers’ Market proved as popular as ever.

Shame about the constant rain though.
