Perfect end to summer

We've been intending to build a campfire by our lake every week all summer....well, tonight we finally did!
The lake was beautiful, peaceful and calm.   A couple of neighbors went by on their pontoons...we shared some pleasant conversation as they drifted past.   The fire crackled with enthusiasm, and framed the Cubs logo on Al's sweatshirt just as I took this shot.
I always love to capture the shapes of the flames, and today that just made things even better.
I don't feel sad at summer's passing...I've enjoyed every day, and look forward to what the cooler days bring.
