English Perpendicular
The church of St. James the Great, Thorley has a tower built in the Fifteenth century. It is in the English Perpendicular style. The thin eight sided spire is especially characteristic of the County of Hertfordshire.
There had been a church on the site for at least 500 years before the tower was built.
Returning to the North later today as the new school term starts tomorrow.
