Salvation Army Halt
It's been a few months since I ran along the Alban Way in the direction of the city centre, so today was the first time I've noticed the start of the latest platform renovation. This wooden platform was so overgrown I didn't even realise it was there until today. Turns out it has an interesting history - originally built as a private non-timetabled halt in 1897 to serve local orchid growing business Sander & Sons. It was later also used to serve the Salvation Army printing works in nearby Campfield Road, hence the name on the sign.
