Off to Xian

We caught a train from Beijing to Xian today. Enormous station, but fortunately our guide took us to the correct waiting room... all luggage is scanned before you go through, having had to show passport and ticket before even being allowed into the station.

It was a fast train, with only one stop, taking just over 4 hours. First class is very comfortable, with bigger than airline seats, footrests and a snack pack and bottle of water to boot. It then takes almost an hour to get to the hotel!
