In a Flap
Our treat this week is on Tuesday, rather than Wednesday as TJ has a meeting to attend tomorrow, so we headed off to Forfar for Afternoon Tea at Murtons Farm Nature Reserve. The weather was looking a bit dodgy, so we had a quick walk down to the first pond for me to take some photos of the birds.
Not a bird to be seen at first and then this family of swans appeared from the rushes. They were swimming around quite calmly until some children started shouting in the distance. The cygnets took fright and started racing for the far bank, with the adults following more sedately behind. They then all waddled across the grass separating the ponds to reach the bigger loch (see Extra) and swam off into the distance! A few minutes later and we would have missed them.
We returned to the café and enjoyed a very tasty Afternoon Tea. We had just got back into the car afterwards when the heavens opened, so our timing was perfect:-)
