Acorns from the oak tree.

It's interesting how the acorns vary from year to year. 2010 was a bumper year and when the acorns hit the porch roof, it sounded as though we were constantly under seige. Then last year there were pretty much no acorns at all. This year is an average year I would guess and I have been raking them up this morning. I don't mind the random sounds, in fact I like the reminder that I am so close to nature. For a couple of nights recently, we heard owls very close by but they have moved now.
