Famous people.

We had an appointment in Lancaster this morning and with a little time to spare had a wander round the Town Hall Square.
A massive monument with Queen Victoria on top has four panels round it with about 50 famous life sized figures. Only two are women. Florence Nightingale and George Elliot, although whether the organisers knew
she was a woman is uncertain.
Set me to wondering if they were putting one up now who would they choose to include?
Brian Cox perhaps. Beyonce? Certainly in the present climate few politicians would get many votes.
More worrying is the movement to pull down old statues because they held views we find disagreeable.
