Road crossings

Last night I finished making grade crossings on the railroad. There are 15 of these so it took a while. After fitting the scale lumber between the rails, I added wood grain with a wire brush and then distressed them a little with dull exacto blades. Also added nail holes. Finally a couple of coats of dilute black india ink in 91% alcohol and we are done. Next step is the finish balasting the rails. Then finally I can get my photo backdrops done and bring back the trains.

In the future I will install gravel roads up the these crossings so the ties will not show.
