sea change happen
Sometimes it seems that things will never change, but at others it appears possible that they will, however slowly.
At work today, we started using biodegradable boxes and bags for takeaway food instead of the polystyrene ones I really dislike. The new boxes were given to us by the Scottish Government. I also read yesterday that the Government at Holyrood have a plan to introduce deposits on all plastic and glass bottles and cans in an attempt to reduce damage to marine life. Finally, today's editorial in the Guardian actually said good things about veganism!
After work I was at the Stove with Lizzie for our monthly "Stitching Dumfries". This lovely banner was hanging on the wall. The Stove website explains: "As part of ArtCOP Scotland, and organised by Stove Herald Moxie de Paulitte and craftivist Joy Cheroukai, Sea Change Happen brought ‘craftivism’ to the Stove, a form of gentle and reflective activism through a series of Stitch In sewing sessions. Each individual work created over the craftivism sessions were compiled to create a banner, carried in the Stop Climate Chaos Scotland Rally in Edinburgh, with the Crichton Carbon Centre."
