Our First Visitor

Today I crossed the lane to get to the postbox - very handy, although it was 4:30 and I found out that the daily collection is at 4 pm. Never mind, it wasn't urgent.
On my way back I spotted this gorgeous redheaded caterpillar on our gate. I have no idea what sort it is as I haven't a clue where my insect identification book is.
We seem to have come on in leaps and bounds today, and have a few pictures up now, and even curtains on one window in our bedroom!
