Cake treat

I am not normally a cake eater, but this particular treat caught my eye in the supermarket today.
Yes, a Spotted Dick cake! Now I have met puds like spotted dick or bread and butter pudding on the shelves, but never a cake version of one of my favourite puds.
Ssdly, none of those ready made dessert versions really match up to those I recall mum making in days of my youth.  Thick custard and a generous helping of mum’s  bread and butter pudding, or spotted dick was something else. Or the alternative bread pudding.
Now, the chance of reviving memories from childhood days in the shape of cake which will present the opportunity for a snack without having to wait for mealtime.

Can’t wait to try it!
