we arrived early at 7am and stayed on the boat for breakfast as we weren't meeting the cooncil folk til 9.30am. they were so lovely - really pleased to have the anchor there. it was a nice welcome and the weather got better and better as the day went on - scorchio by the time we reached our pod at eshaness. what a spot - amazing stacks and cliffs and a wee stony beach nearby. and that pod was perfect, such luxury compared with our usual camping.

we had bought some crappy wee crab rods in lerwick and found nearby eshaness harbour to go crabbing (there are harbours everywhere in shetland). well, those wee rods were better than we thought - we caught huge crabs! we sneaked a look at the lobster creels hanging off the harbour too...absolute beasts with their claws taped up. poor things.

so ace to be in shetland, love it already.
