Ploughing on
All Blipers heading from Memmingen Munich West International Airport to the opening of the Oktoberfest on Saturday 16th, need to stop over for a bit of "Vorglühen" - pre-ignition - at our villages annual party organised by the local equivalent of the Young Farmers Club.
I think the organisation In Germany is almost identical to the UK system EXCEPT in Bavaria where they have separate catholic and evangelical branches. As the Bavarians say "Mia san mia" (We are we)!
The event held in Müllers(Mueller or Muller if you must) barn - not the Müller/Mueller/Muller from yesterday or his next-door relation Müller/Mueller/Muller but another related Müller/Mueller/Muller one 100m away - to be precise Josef rather than Walter or Herbert. To avoid confusion I won't list the other Müller/Mueller/Mullers in the village.
The Young Farmers do up the barn for the disco on Friday night (Acker = arable - ploughed - field). I think for the first time there is a ploughed field Motocross race in the afternoon before the party.
The next day they tidy it all up, get into their traditional Lederhosen and Dirndl to serve the Oldies their beer and food at tables and do their bottom swaying "Schunkeln" to the sounds of a local brass band.
Applause for the Land Youth and the Müller/Mueller/Mullers for providing the location - I am sure all the other Müller/Mueller/Mullers will be there too on at least one of the days.
