Cactus flowers

The sky was overcast most of the day with just the occasional sunny spell this afternoon. Unlike yesterday, nothing blipworthy - is that a new word that I've just invented? - appeared at the park while I was walking a dog from the sanctuary which is why I've chosen this photo that I'd taken before I went out as today's blip.

This is a cactus that I've had a very long time. It stands on the kitchen window-sill and has been flowering for at least 15 years now, the last 7 or 8 years even twice in one year. It produced 4 flowers earlier this year and now it has another 2 flowers which have both opened today. I must admit that my mother takes care of it though.

This is perhaps not the most inspired blip but my mind has been on something totally different today. Yesterday evening I made an appointment with the vet to have my rabbit Rosie spayed. The operation will take place next Wednesday and I have been thinking of that nearly the entire day. I'll try to do better again for tomorrow's blip.
