Desert Rats

Driven past this many times, and finally decided to stop and investigate today.

The 7th Armoured Division of the 'Desert Rats', who were stationed here, in the middle of Thetford Forest, Norfolk during 1944, as they prepared for the Normandy Invasion of 5th June 1944.
The 7th Division were the first tanks to be landed on 'gold' beach on June 6th 1944.
