Alesund, Norway

Hello, Norway!  We arrived in the port of Alesund this morning.  A beautiful town, with many Art Nouveau buildings built alongside a long fjord.  At the top of a steep hill, we could admire this lovely view of the town, complete with our cruise ship docked at the quay.

We drove to the "Saga Islands" of Giske and Godoy, where we visited a 12th Century marble church with an amazing wooden carved and painted altar and pulpit, and also a charming village complete with lighthouse.  The extra shows a sweet little cottage complete with grass (and heather) roof.
