OUTBACK AUSTRALIA.... Back When #69

....another in my Back When Series and thought after yesterday's "fun" this suitable!

As you saw yesterday we were right at the spot for some heavy surfing dumps and this pic reminds me of the fun in the surf "back when"!

Had a couple of surf boards over time but must admit the best surf fun was at a place called Boomer Beach on the south coast of South Australia. This You Tube sure brought back many memories of body surfing these monsters. The thing that made them dangerous aside their size (most times) nothing less than shown, but most times alot bigger, was fact the "lay" of the coast here means they break very close to shore so normally at the top of the wave you are looking down at sand until the water backs up! Any wonder the name given to the beach, but sure some fun. We must have been mad!!

The moral of the story - yesterdays little issues were nothing compared this.... BUT, yep fact we are about 50 years older now seems to make some difference for nature's challenges!
