My 1st reading homework

Here is Katie tonight, all delighted with herself as she is now getting reading homework. Mummy has to ready the "wee words" and Katie is to read the "big words".

I have always read to the kids while they are little but as they have all started school they seemed to go off having a bedtime story as they have been reading at school. Megan and Johnny are now back into reading other stories now they are older but it did take a little bit of time.

I love to read (just not had a lot of time over the last few years what with babies and all that haha) so a wee bit of time out for the kids is allowed once they are established readers. Katie's enjoyment at having her first book from school for her to read and not for me to read is lovely to watch.
