Gie us a Snog

... or give me a kiss for those who don't know Scots!!!

Usual Thursday of meeting my friend Sharon for a coffee or two. She is an amazing lady. Her son developed Hydrocephalus (water on the brain) aged 12, and has been left brain damaged. He is now 21. She never complains, just gets on with life and bringing up her 2 other kids. I so admire her courage. She is great for giving advice, and always says you only have one life, live it!!!

I visited my next door neighbour Barbara this afternoon. She is a game old bird, aged 92 and still active, being a retired farmer's widow and she is always out in her beautiful garden. It's always a riot of colour whatever the season and puts my jungle to shame. I felt I should let her know about the break-up and she was quite distressed hearing it. She shook her head and said that it's far too easy for people just to walk away nowadays, in her day, most people just got on and worked through things. She then blamed technology, and a pace of life that is far too quick.

She gave me a beautiful bunch of sweet peas from her garden and three gorgeous dahalias (but I had to watch out for ear-wigs!! Oh hell I hate these beasties!!

As you can see, wee Ben was here and sitting on the bench in the garden, she couldn't resist licking the food from his chops.......
