Marjorie's ramblings

Baafest

It's been a busy day and I was home so late that this is a back blip. I was too tired last night to do any editing or uploading.

I took Mum to Hexham for a haircut and Aggie had an xray. I managed a very quick shop in M & S before I collected the person with the newly coiffed hair.

I whisked her home and did a U turn back to Hexham for lunch with some of the other women in one of my photo groups. It was good to catch up after the summer.

In the evening I was in Bellingham for the student concert of Baafest (Bellingham All Acoustic Festival). What a wonderful event. I've seen and heard some of the youngsters before, so it was good to see how they have persisted and progressed in their musical endeavours.

I took loads of images and I'm very pleased with some. What to blip? I love the quiet concentration on the faces of these young men from the Stocksfield Stompers. They are part of an excellent youth band with fiddles, accordion, flutes and guitars. Brilliant set.

After the student concert, there was a second concert with Flossie Malavialle. What a talent and what fun. She is French and has lived in the north east for 15 years. Her Geordie accent is wonderful, but her singing and playing were brilliant.

And so to bed, after midnight. (I had to get a late pass out.........)

Can't resist an extra from the same band.
