How do they do it?

I was watching somebody work at bobbin ace today and marvelled at the intricacy. How on earth do they know which bobbin to move next? The local lace group had an exhibition in the church today and there was some beautiful work on show. The members sat peacefully working away at their lace, but were happy to stop and explain what they were doing. I knew several of the ladies, through WI. See extra for view in the church.
The exhibition was part of Heritage Week, and here the High Street was displayed as our heritage. There was plenty of activity and visitors could get involved in many ways, from making sausages in the butcher's to rolling chocolate truffles in our new chocolate shop. A steel band added to the atmosphere.
