Tour Of Britain
By the pure luck of someone at Kidlington Camera Club posting that the Tour of Britain cycle race was passing near Oxford. Not only that. it was passing along the road we use on the way back from Oliver's Saturday school about half an hour or so after we normally travel along there.
On the way in we spied a good spot to stop. On the way back there were cars, bikes and people in every junction and farm gateway to watch the procession. It was quite a thing to see. I think almost every Police motorbike in Thames Valley must have been involved, with plenty of support bikes, then course cars. All of a sudden half a dozen bikes come through in a hurry, chased by a few motorbikes. About 3 minutes later the main group of maybe over 100 bikes came through, again chased by support cars, bikes, ambulances, everything really. A very interesting sight for a Saturday lunchtime
