I was the gloating grand-pop this afternoon as my grandson kicked off his youth football season. Not only did they win, but the weather cooperated by producing perfect conditions. And yes, once again I was amazing at how a couple of hours away could take the edge off of a day.

Tonight we'll watch 'Irma' closely as she makes her way north. I have an uncle in Key West, a cousin just below Daytona, and an aunt in Ormond-By-the-Beach. Prayers to everyone in its path, and to those who have loved ones weathering the storm.
