Music-making in Brum

Me and fellow brass bandsman Steve went to Birmingham's Symphony Hall today to listen to 18 very fine bands competing at the British Open. Playing the set test piece 'Fraternity' composed by Thierry Deleruyelle, it was won by Switzerland's Valasia Brass Band with Whitburn from Scotland second and Wales' Cory band (currently ranked World number one) in third place. 

A chance too to catch up with friends old and new. All-in-all a great day out for us enthusiasts.
