Baofeng lake

We are now in Zhangjiajie. Today it also rained, so we had to change our plans and went for a boat ride on Boafeng lake, which is in a basin created by the mountainous area. As we sailed past some small houses, we were serenaded by local minority people. The lake is about 72 metres deep. In the afternoon we spent some time exploring some local caves....with a paved walkway throughout. I've seen more spectacular stalagmites and stalactites, but it was prettily lit, and ended with another boat ride. For lunch, we had a furnace under the table.... and the food was cooked in a wok inset into the table. It started with a stock, and then lots of vegetables and smoked pork meats were added. It was very tasty, although some of the meat was a bit fat for my taste. The soup was delicious.
