Orgosolo

Visit to various mountain villages today (Oliena, Orgosolo, Marmoiada). Orgosolo was the most interesting of the three. Not so long ago it was known for violence and banditry. These days it is mainly known for the many hundreds of murals around the town. In Marmoiada we visited an excellent museum of Mediterranean masks which included examples of the costumes and masks worn by local men at the annual carnival in Marmoiada.
