Open Garden Visit
A mix of sunshine and showers today but that didn't put us off from visiting our favourite NGS (National Garden Scheme) Open Garden at Ulting Wick, near Maldon in Essex. The owner, Phillippa, is now well known for her planting of Tulips in the Spring and then Dahlias in the Autumn so her garden was a feast of colours from the moment you walk in. Her garden is set in 4 acres so there is so much to explore and she talked me into buying yet another Dahlia from her plant stall so I think I have 4 'ulting' Dahlias in my collection now so will need to take special care of them over the winter! Her house is rather stunning too along with the listed black barns she also has in the grounds! Wonder if she'd like a lodger?!
Feeling a little fresher out there today too - might be time for the winter coats to start making an appearance ...eeek!!
