The Dell Effect

The Dell Effect is a bit like The Butterfly Effect (that thing where a butterfly flaps in Venezuela and the M11 closes as a result.  Or is that when a snowflake lands in Cambridge, something like that..)

The old shower in the Butler's apartment leaked. The initial result was a new bathroom as blipped previously, but that wasn't the end as a year's worth of slow leak into the wall meant the (old and crumbly) plaster had to come off this side.  Having cleared the room for the plastering to be done, it makes sense (allegedly) to redecorate the utility room.  Which means doing the adjoining boot room, and thus replacing the huge door (found in the outbuildings) between the two, now that we have a boiler that doesn't need a foot square hole in the back door (I kid you not). Which means refitting cupboards and stripping the spectacularly thick layers of paint off the door and frame, and so on.

And so to illustrate it's not just me doing the DIY...
