Bike/Skate Park

Today after cleaning the house some more (always there is cleaning, sigh) I took the kids to the bike/skate park. There were 5 other older boys (around 12-14 years old) riding around on their scooters. They were doing all sorts of fancy jumps and spins. Connor was in awe and had a huge case of idol worship.
I experienced a bit of awe myself as I watched these older boys treat my children with kindness and respect. They politely asked my kids to move out of the way or to watch out as they were zipping around doing their stunts. They interacted kindly with Connor as he attempted to chat with them. It was a wonderful experience all in all and I'm so pleased Connor was able to see that not all older boys are 'bad boys'. Something he has thought since his bullying experience on the playground when he was only 3.
