Friendly gull a.k.a Scavenger

During a quick lunch break out by the fountain at school today, this big guy was lingering about in hopeful anticipation of feasting on students' lunch leftovers.

At one point, he came within less than a foot of the girl beside me, who was finishing off an apple. Mr. Gull entered into a staring contest with the girl, until she surrendered and carefully placed the apple core in his receptive beak.

Apparently this was not the tasty treat he was expecting. After one peck, Mr. Gull resumed eye contact - likely with the hope that the girl was hiding a crab somewhere.
