Thankful
I love Caladiums! They're so delicate. That's why I was happily surprised to find these alive and doing just fine in the front yard. They survived an absolutely horrendous visit from Irma. She wasn't as terrifying, to me at least, as Andrew back in '92, but it was very frightening last night! Our trees remained upright although many of their limbs litter the ground. We had no structural damage to speak of. A Pine limb did fall as a sharp projectile piercing the roof of our screen room. Birds have been gorging themselves on seeds, the squirrels are their silly selves and the frogs are all joyfully singing in the water catchment down the street. Lot's of debris to clean up but that'll wait. Winds are still gusting and stuff is still falling so we've been told to stay inside until at least later this afternoon. All in all, we are very fortunate. Thank you so much for you kind words, thoughts and prayers. Our Blip Community is the very Best! My journal visiting will continue to be very limited as there is much to do to clean up after Irma.
