Running in the rain

I'm kind of surprised how this photo came out. It was absolutely pouring with rain - you can see how wet everything is - but it's almost as if the rain stopped for just as long as it took me to take this picture.

Not that rain is particularly noteworthy in this part of the world but it was more on my mind, this afternoon, as I had to get out for a run. It was the only time I had available, even though Dan and Abi were at the house. But we agreed a deal which was that I'd go out and run, and then we'd all go for a curry.

It's a long time since I've started a run in the rain. I've been caught out a few times where it's started to come down after I've left the house but, actually, if I've done the first mile, it can be quite pleasant if it rains a little. Starting off in the rain is a different kettle of fish.

Well, it was as unpleasant as you'd expect at first, as my running clothes soaked through, but by the time I got to Kearstwick, my internal central heating had kicked in and I enjoyed the rest of the run. Although not as much as the curry with Dan and Abi afterwards :-)
